I-TS-3842 DC Source/Sink

The I-TS-3842 is a single-channel, bidirectional DC source/sink from Gustav Klein's standard line, built for overload duty: it can supply up to 30 seconds of overload power every 10 minutes on top of its continuous rating. Like the I-TS-3840, it is a fixed, pre-engineered design with a defined option set, so orders require no additional engineering.

Who Is the I-TS-3842 For?

Test engineers running battery, fuel cell and powertrain tests that include overload or pulse-power profiles — battery cycling, pulse power testing, fuel cell load testing — and who need a standardized, short-lead-time system with tighter control accuracy than the base I-TS-3840.

Available Models & Accessories

The I-TS-3842 is available in five standard configurations from 60 kW (120 kW overload) to 550 kW (660 kW overload), across 300 V to 1500 V DC and up to 1200 A. Options add insulation monitoring, parallel control, analogue I/O, battery tester/simulator switching and fieldbus interfaces. PDSB and PDU distribution accessories, and the Safety Master for parallel operation, are available separately.

Overload capability built in, not bolted on

30 seconds of overload every 10 minutes is standard equipment, useful for pulse-power and transient test profiles without oversizing the base unit.

Higher measurement accuracy than the I-TS-3840

0.03% fs voltage / 0.05% fs current control makes it the more precise choice within the standard line for tests where measurement resolution matters.

One cabinet, two roles

The switchable battery tester/battery simulator mode covers both charge/discharge testing and simulation from the same hardware.

Fieldbus options without a custom build

EtherCAT, Profibus DP and Profinet interfaces are ex-factory options, so test-bench integration doesn't require the customized line.
