RLS Series Regenerative AC/DC Load Simulator

The RLS Series is a programmable AC and DC electronic load for testing AC and DC load applications. The 4-quadrant load offers several AC and DC emulation modes and flexible single, split and three-phase configurations, with steady-state or transient execution. Power density reaches 24 kW in a 4U chassis, up to 216 kW in a single cabinet, up to 432 kW in dual paralleled cabinets, and up to 1.296 MVA/MW in custom three-phase, high-power systems on request.

Who Is the RLS For?

Test engineers validating EV charging and V2G equipment, on-board chargers and EVSEs, grid-tied and smart-grid equipment, solar inverters and energy storage systems, and general burn-in/production testing of UPS, power supplies, DC-DC converters and battery systems.  

Constant power voltage range eliminates range-switching.

A single constant-power voltage range (30-350V L-N / ±475Vdc) delivers both higher current at lower voltage and higher voltage at lower current without switching ranges.

Highest current availability for AC load simulation.

The RLS provides a broader current range than typical competing units, up to 20% more current, reducing the risk of over- or under-sizing the test power source.

Full 4-quadrant operation for leading and lagging power flows.

The regenerative AC/DC load draws both true and apparent power bidirectionally, with programmable control over power factor, crest factor and current waveshape.

Built-in SmartSource Suite for remote control.

An embedded web-browser interface gives full remote control, development and real-time execution of test sequences from any device.
