Capacitor Box

When an I-TS system is used as a battery simulator, feedback from the test specimen can affect the whole system. The capacitor box reduces this feedback: it is connected as directly as possible to the test specimen, with electrolytic capacitors buffering load spikes and MKP capacitors diverting ripple currents close to the DUT. Available in plastic (IP65) or metal housing.

Who Is the Capacitor Box For?

Test engineers running battery simulation on an I-TS system, where feedback from the test specimen needs to be buffered or its ripple current reduced close to the DUT.

Available Models & Accessories

Capacitor boxes are available in plastic housing (800-1000 V, 8100-20000 uF) and metal housing (800-1100 V, including local-mount MKP variants up to 5.8 mF).

Two capacitor technologies, two jobs

Electrolytic capacitors buffer load spikes for simulator operation, while MKP capacitors specifically divert ripple currents close to the DUT; the metal-housing variants combine both.

Local mounting reduces interference at the source

The 1100 V MKP variants are designed to mount directly on the DUT rather than in the main cabinet, cutting the cable length that picks up interference.

Capacitance is field-adjustable on the local-mount variants

Copper bars let the capacitance be changed on site (e.g. to 830, 1660 or 2490 uF) without swapping the unit.

Housing matches the installation

A plastic IP65 enclosure for general use, or a metal enclosure where the added MKP capacitors and local mounting are needed.
