RGS Series Regenerative Grid Simulator

The RGS Series is a high power density '2-in-1' grid simulator with an optional 4-quadrant AC/DC load, for testing and verifying grid-tied applications. It provides up to 24 kVA in a 4U chassis and fits any standard 19-inch rack. It emulates grid conditions and tests to global compliance standards such as IEEE 1547, UL 1741, IEC 61000-3 and IEC 61000-4.

Who Is the RGS For?

Engineers testing grid-tied products to compliance standards, or bidirectional applications such as EV chargers, V2G/V2H, solar/grid-tied inverters, home energy storage, microgrid research, and UPS/PDU testing.  

Constant power voltage range.

A single voltage range (350V L-N / ±500Vdc) delivers seamless transitions between higher current at lower voltage and higher voltage at lower current, without the output disruption of range-switching.

Best-in-class current availability.

Up to 48A per phase, around 20% more current than a typical competing unit that maxes out at 35A/phase, plus 130% overload capability for 2 seconds.

2-in-1 grid simulator with optional AC/DC load.

A single 4U chassis combines a grid simulator with an optional 4-quadrant load, letting one unit both source and sink power for EV chargers, motor drives, and battery discharge/regenerative-braking setups.

Built-in harmonics and interharmonics simulation.

An integrated waveform digitizer/scope supports List, Pulse and Step transient modes with pre-written IEEE 1547.1-2020 and IEC 61000-xx test sequences.
