PLW Series — Water-Cooled DC Electronic Load (6 kW – 250 kW)
The Sorensen PLW Series is the water-cooled counterpart to the PLA, delivering 6 kW to 250 kW of DC electronic load capacity. Water cooling enables continuous operation at power levels that would be impractical with air cooling. The PLW supports ultra-low voltage operation down to 0.1 V — critical for fuel cell and electrolyser test.

The PLW Series enables testing at power levels that require active cooling beyond what air systems can provide. Water-cooled loads allow the same rack space to handle ten to fifty times more power than air-cooled alternatives, making the PLW essential for fuel cell testing, hydrogen electrolyser evaluation, EV battery pack cycling and power module characterisation. The ultra-low voltage capability — dissipating full rated current at 0.1 V — is a critical differentiator for fuel cell applications. The condensation protection system ensures safe operation even when the inlet water temperature fluctuates across the dew point.
