Summary
Promote and sell the full range of products and services offered by the Company in the designated sales territory and develop new markets.
Everything will be done in accordance with the International Arms Trafficking Regulations (ITAR) and European import and export regulations and according to the usual business ethics.
This job description describes the tasks and responsibilities essential for the primary function of the role defined above. Due to the size of the Company, staff may be required to perform additional duties that may be beyond the scope of this role outlined below.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote and sell the products and services offered by the Company.
- Prepare prices, quotes and detailed technical proposals.
- Take responsibility for one or more product lines and assist sales team members in these areas of expertise.
- Plan and prioritize personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact to achieve agreed business goals, including costs and sales.
- Plan and manage the assigned sales territory.
- Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate sales methods and internal liaison in order to optimize service quality, business growth and customer satisfaction.
- Use customer and prospect contact activity tools and systems, and update relevant information contained in these systems.
- Plan, realize and support local trade shows and exhibitions according to agreed budgets and schedules.
- Respond to and track sales inquiries using appropriate application methods.
- Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information.
- Communicate, liaise and negotiate internally and externally to facilitate the development of profitable business and lasting relationships.
- Attend and present at external client meetings and internal meetings with other Company functions necessary to perform tasks and assist in business development.
- Attend training and develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.
- Contribute to marketing and advertising activities associated with the products and services offered by the Company.
- Initiate and support continuous improvement activities.

This is not a supervisory role.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent); or 5 years of experience and/or training in sales and/or marketing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- In-depth knowledge of appropriate applications and standards for the business is an asset.
- Knowledge of the Test & Measurement equipment industry is an asset.
- Experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
- Knowledge and demonstrated use of a CRM system to record business activities is an asset.
Language Skills
Must be fluent in Dutch and English and be able to read, analyze and interpret general and technical documents, reports, procedures, etc. as well as draft reports, business correspondence, technical proposals and quotes.
Mathematical Skills
Must be able to calculate margins, discounts, interest, commissions and selling prices.
Reasoning Skills
Must be able to define a problem, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Physical Requirements
This role requires the employee to demonstrate equipment on a regular basis and therefore involves lifting and carrying (as part of the guidelines in current legislation for safe handling and lifting). The employee must also be able to operate a computer, use the phone and manage office files, etc.
Work Environment
This opportunity requires travel and the ability to perform your own tasks, support the sales team and attend trade shows. The employee must therefore always be able to drive and hold a valid driving licence and be able to travel by train or air. This position is based in the Netherlands.
