CGE

The CGE series broadband reference comb sources are essential tools for the characterisation of EMC measurement environments. They provide a stable, repeatable signal across a wide frequency spectrum, making them ideal for verifying anechoic chambers and evaluating site-to-site variation. Whether used for radiated or conducted tests, these generators ensure that measurement setups remain consistent over time.

Constructed with a rugged metal enclosure, the CGE is designed to be mounted directly to a ground plane to simulate realistic test conditions. The unit can be powered by an internal battery or an external source, a feature specifically designed to minimize the influence of power cables on the radiated field. This attention to detail ensures high-quality reference signals for dynamic range evaluation and system checks.

The series includes the CGE04, covering 100 MHz to 18 GHz, and the CGE06, which extends performance from 915 MHz up to 40 GHz. Various kit options are available, including specialized monocone antennas like the MCN02-SMA, MCN02-K, and MCN05 to optimize performance across specific frequency bands. Users can select from several comb frequencies to tailor the output to their specific testing and calibration needs.

Versatile EMC Environment Verification

The CGE series provides a reliable reference for both radiated and conducted EMC measurement environments, ensuring consistency in test results. It is specifically engineered for characterizing anechoic chambers, semi-anechoic chambers, and open area test sites to detect potential setup errors.

Optimized Power and Connectivity

To maintain signal integrity, the CGE can operate on internal battery power, which eliminates the parasitic effects of external cabling during sensitive measurements. The inclusion of high-performance monocone antennas like the MCN05 ensures optimum operation even at millimeter-wave frequencies up to 40 GHz.
